leaving again

This summer appears to be all about going away. We got back from the cruise and Patrick immediately went to camp. This weekend we head to the shore for Night in Venice, and then next week we leave for Keystone Games and Hilton Head. When we get back, the boys and I have to find a few days to scoot down to VA to see Brayden. I actually just want to have a quiet, relaxing weekend at home. I have so much to do here around the house. It is cluttered and a huge mess. I want it emptied out. No more crap everywhere! So, anyway, I am doing errands like crazy today. I am doing laundry, picking up Davey's birthday card, packing, taking Pat to the allergist and Matt to a job interview. Then we get to brave the Hellish traffic on the way to Ocean City.

I am really on a roll this week. I guess I am usually too brain fried to think when Patrick is around. He comes home in two days. I really miss him. Last night we had severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings for our area. I kept worrying about him being in a tent. I really am a wory wart of a mother and I hate it, but I can't seem to stop. Today Matt and I were on a mission to find his new running shoes. He found a pair he really wanted. But for some reason, running shoes seem to stop at size 10.5. Nice if you happen to have a child with small feet. The larger sizes fly out of the stores. We called a dozen places, checked online and visited a few stores with no luck. So Matt had to settle for a slightly less ugly pair than what he originally wanted. Still green and gold, but not his first choice. Most of my unpacking is accomplished. I still have a load of wash to fold and put away, but that is about it. Now I can get through Christmas in July and then start packing again for the shore next week. Ah, the joys of summer!

Wow! Two posts in one week. What is this world coming to? Well, this is just my roundup for June post, so nothing too exciting.
What books and/or magazines did I read this month? I think I only read Julia Quinn's "On the Way to the Wedding", and the usual scrapbooking magazines
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month? I caught an episode of the Fresh Meat Challenge on MTV and one of the Real World.
What special days did I celebrate and how? Father's Day with Randy, Patrick's birthday. For Father's Day we cooked out and for Pat's birthday we did lunch at Red Lobster
What illnesses or health concerns did I have in June? None that come to mind
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family? Got ready to go on our cruise
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try in May? None..... I am so very boring
What special or unusual purchases did I make? Lots of clothes and stuff for the cruise, camping equipment for Patrick to go to Boy Scout Camp
What were this month’s disappointments? Still fat...and it is just not changing. HPC moved to their new facility and we decided that the new price structure is just not worth it.
What were my accomplishments this month? I worked out and walked regularly
Anything else noteworthy to record about June? Not a thing that comes to mind

We are home from vacation. The week flew by. Why does it always seem to go so much faster than the weeks at work? In any case, it was a great week. Plenty of good food, lots of sunchine and time with family and friends. What more could we ask for? And aren't my boys handsome in their tuxes?
