Holiday Letdown

Every year I get caught up in the chaos and excitement of the holidays. I run around like a fool, trying to get it all done and failing. This year I was definitely more relaxed. After Christmas '04, anything would be better. So, I just did what I could. On Christmas Eve I only had a few stocking stuffers to wrap, so that was nice, and I decided not to do much baking, which helped my waistline (I hope). Christmas Day came and went. Only it went by in a blur. The gifts were opened and the food was eaten and the day was over. And now, a few days later, I am wiped out. I am feeling like I could sleep for a week. Why does this always happen?
Anyway, it was a nice Christmas. Very mellow as usual for us. We stayed in pjs all day long and just hung out. Patrick was sick all weekend with a fever. He slept more in three days than he usually does in a week. Poor little munchkin. He really did not enjoy Christmas. But he liked all of his gifts and claims he will be waking up in time every morning now that he has an IHome. We shall see!
Matt had his room redecorated by a friend for Christmas. He is now sleeping snugly in hot pink Cinderella sheets. His swimsuit calendar is being modeled by a familiar face, and he gets to wake up each morning to the site of a familiar, smiling face glued to his ceiling. Oh, and we can't forget his Pokemon fleece blanket. Definitely a cool room for a 16 year old boy.

Happy December

Time is just flying by and I can't seem to make it slow down. Christmas is only a few weeks away. I am actually in better shape than usual. Most of my gifts are purchased. Most of what I have is wrapped. My cards are all signed, addressed, and in envelopes with a stamp. I plan to mail them within the next week. But that is about it. My house is barely decorated and I haven't baked a single thing. That will happen soon though, I hope! We had some good news, bad news on Patrick's health issues this past week. The little guy has had serious problems with tonsillitis this past year. One infection after another, with no relief from antibiotics. So we did the full round of allergy tests. The good news is he doesn't have to get rid of his cat. The bad news is that he is allergic to everything except trees. That's right, EVERYTHING, except trees. How does that happen? Basically, we have to allergy proof his whole room and he will probably be going in weekly for his allergy shots. But, they think he will bnot need the surgery now to remove his tonsils. So, I guess that is more good news, right?
